Among Compare Suite customers are large companies that need to install Compare Suite on many PCs. System administration in this case is a tough task and we are trying to help company’s professionals with this.
Disabling some menu options
Sometime it is necessary to disable some menu options in Compare Suite. For instance, for a company-wide installation it is a good idea to disable options related to update.
Here is what system administrator can do (before trying this, make sure you have the latest version of Compare Suite, downloaded from our web-site).
1. Run comparesuite.exe with parameter “/getactionslist” (without quotes).
2. As a result file ActionsSettings.txt will be created on your desktop.
3. In ActionsSettings.txt you will find all supported keys and you will find there instruction about how to use these keys and where the resulted file can be placed.
For example:
The file ActionsSettings.txt may contain:
AEnableAutoUpdates !!! Check for updates automatically=0
which will gray out the “Check for updates automatically” menu command. One of the possible locations for the ActionsSettings.txt is a Compare Suite’s installation directory.
Important note: below is a version history of Compare Suite project. Please note that there are 4 editions of Compare Suite: Compare Suite Light (freeware edition), Compare Suite Standard, Compare PDF (the Standard edition limited to PDF files only), Compare Suite PRO. To learn the difference between editions check the comparison table.

The PDF to Text conversion function was upgraded. Now you will be experiencing less problems with comparing PDF files.

What can you do with it?
Check your documents. Compare Suite works with all of the most popular document formats: Microsoft Word, Rich Text Format (RTF), Adobe PDF, Open Office, HTML files, even Powerpoint presentations.

Compare whole folders at once. Just choose any two folders, and Compare Suite can run a full analysis of all of the files in both folders. If you like, you can synchronize your folders, confident that every file will match the original precisely.
Analyze your archives. Compare Suite can work with documents, spreadsheets, and other files compressed inside your ZIP files and RAR archives, as well.

Save your results as a separate file. Then, you or your colleagues can refer back to those results later to better understand ongoing changes in your documents.
