Use Compare Suite for image comparison
Image comparison is always more difficult than compassion of other file types. Why is it so? Well, perhaps it is because we can better memorize words and sentences than graphic objects. Finding differences in two pictures that look pretty much the same can be rather difficult.
Who needs to compare pictures and graphic files? In fact everybody can use image comparison is he or she regularly works with huge amount of pictures. But mostly, there are graphic designers, web designers, photographers etc. Sometimes it is impossible to notice a minor difference between the pictures, although this difference matters so much.
In order to avoid possible problems with image comparison you should use Compare Suite solution from AKS-LABS. Although in image comparison mode the program has restricted functions because pictures contain less information as compared with text files, you will still find it helpful if you are in a need of picture files comparison.
What is a general procedure of image comparison with Compare Suite? Everything goes on so simple that even an inexperienced user can do that!
So, first of all you need to select image files to be compared (third icon from the left under main menu). Try to choose files with minor differences since it will be them more convenient to compare these files. Once the files are opened you will immediately see all changes in the files.
Compare Suite has special features in image comparison mode, namely:
- Show changed pixels (i.e. the program shows amended or added elements)
- Show unchanged pixels. If you turn this option off you will see only those elements that have been changed which is very convenient.
- Highlight changed pixels. This option shows changed elements on the picture that does not have them, for the user to know what changed were amended and how.
- Highlight with rectangles. This option marks changed elements with rectangles.
You can also compare files data, i.e. information on the files like file size, picture size, bits per color, compression quality, grayscale etc.
Unfortunately report and commenting options are not available in the image comparison mode since there is not so much information to be analyzed.
Image comparison would certainly help you track changes in the picture files. If you are a designer who has to review several variants of an advertising project you will need very little time to perform comparison with Compare Suite.
