As well as Compare Suite, DiffDog 2005 provides powerful capabilities for folder comparison, allowing not only to compare and merge directories, but also to open and edit files directly from the directory comparison view. You can edit content directly within the differencing display, merge changes, and instantly re-compare the edited files.  

Among other common features is the possibility to compare directory components by file size and date or by file content. This allows to quickly look through a folder without screening file text. Both programs support command line operation and filters (ignore, compare selected, etc.). 

A unique feature of DiffDog 2005 Professional Edition is advanced XML-aware differencing and editing capabilities. When comparing source-code and XML files, intelligent syntax-coloring, line numbering, indentation guides, folding margins, and other innovative features come handy.
