FolderMatch is a file and folder comparison and synchronization program. It helps control multiple copies of files in sync.

A great deal of synchronization abilities make FolderMatch first of all folder synchronization software. It displays two folders side by side, clearly showing the differences between folders. You can synchronize entire directories or copy selected files to a target folder. It’s possible to right click any item to copy, move, rename or delete it, or open the file in its native application. You can apply more powerful options, such as the ability to use filters or fix the date and time of a file. In addition, FolderMatch offers a full set of synchronization options, including the ability to mirror, archive, or automatically synchronize two folders to reflect the newest versions of each file.  

File comparison is a nice feature of FolderMatch, however not its best. FolderMatch can compare only Word, Excel, PDF and RTF files, while Compare Suite also has the ability to compare zip archives and binary files. There are five options for file comparison from simple size/date comparison to a more thorough binary comparison. Differences are shown either side-by-side or exported to Microsoft Word. Just like Compare Suite, FolderMatch uses line numbers and highlighting to illustrate all the differences found during individual file comparison.

One of most amazing FolderMatch features is Duplicate Search. It finds and removes any duplicate files, even if their names are different. Additional features include atomic time server clock synchronization, built-in Hexadecimal viewer, user-configurable sounds and drag and drop support.

If you use a computer at the office, at home and on the road, FolderMatch can help you control multiple copies of files or folders. It can be used to synchronize your work and home PC and your laptop. Network administrators and system technicians also find it useful for maintaining several versions of files and folders, applying program updates and daily backups, besides, FolderMatch's synchronizer is network-friendly. Only non-matching files are replaced which reduces the load on the network. And even if you don’t need to sync several computers, FolderMatch is a good choice if you want to manage your backups or spare some disk space.
