Hello, Mr. Mundt
Quote: I teach German at high school. My students often do a quiz which is in fact a list of words. That’s how I check if they have learned the new words. There are 20 students in a class and I have 5 classes a day. I’d like to spend less time checking this kind of works. Can Compare Suite help me to automate my grading process?
Surely Compare Suite can help a lot. Here is one idea: have your students write all the words in a column – one word per line. Prepare a master document formatted in the same way with all the correct answers. Select char by char comparison method. Open your master document in the left window, your students’ works will be opened in the right window one by one.
When you have run the comparison, you’ll see the number of modified lines in the bottom of the page (highlighted in green if you haven’t changed the color scheme). Since you know that every line is one word, you’ll automatically see how many mistakes there are in a certain work. TA-DA! :D Knowing this you can decide on the mark.
