Dear all,
Compare Suite support team often receives feedback form users including those who have integrated it into version control software and mostly they are satisfied. Recently I received mail from Compare Suite user Wicky given below:
“I have been trying to link comparesuite to starteam version control software as the default file compare utility (mainly because starteam cannot compare word, excell files). The problem is that starteam renames the files by suffixing the revision number at the end of the file name, thus not allowing comparesuite to see them as word files”.
Compare Suite really allows comparing different versions of documents in document management system. Helpful feature of the program is that you can write short comprehensive comments to the changes found. So every may want to send comparative report together with your comments to your co-corker.
The possible solution in this case may be using additional software that is capable to manage and control filenames so that Compare Suite will treat such files as MS Word documents.
